About
I write slowly on purpose.
My name is Kai. I am not a journalist, a coach, or anyone with a certificate to explain your life. I work a regular office job in Tampines and come home to a flat in Pasir Ris where the corridor fan ticks once every rotation if you listen closely enough.
MindGlide started because I kept noticing things on the MRT and in kopitiams that I wanted to remember — not for an audience, exactly, but because writing them down changes how they sit in my head. A mangrove walk at low tide. The drink-stall auntie who has my order ready before I speak. The way a stranger unsticks a fare gate without announcing they are helping.
I grew up moving between neighbourhoods and settled in the east because the park connector near my block makes it easy to walk without a plan. Most of my posts happen within a few MRT stops of home. When I travel to town it is usually for a meal or a friend, and those trips show up here too — including one evening near Chin Swee Road that I still think about.
What I aim for is clarity, not polish. I like sentences that glide forward without forcing a point. If you read something here and think "yes, that is exactly how that felt," then the entry did its job. If you disagree, that is fine too — these are my memories, not instructions.
I do not accept sponsorships, run ads for products, or offer services through this site. It is a personal notebook with the lock removed. You are welcome to read and to write if something resonates.
What you'll find here
Short essays about food stalls, walks, MRT moments, and the small rituals that bookend my days. Nothing alarming on purpose — I prefer the ordinary edges where most of us actually live. Singapore gives me more material than I can use: void decks, hawker noise, rain on the park connector, the heat that makes you choose iced over hot without thinking.
A note on accuracy
This is a personal blog. Everything here is written by me and reflects my own experiences, opinions and memories at the time of writing. Posts are personal reflections and are not professional, medical, legal, financial or fitness advice. Places and everyday moments are described from my own point of view; I do not name or speak for anyone else, and I try to write about my neighbourhood kindly and honestly. If I have got something wrong, tell me and I will fix it.
