Privacy policy
This privacy policy explains how MindGlide (mindglide.pro), a personal blog operated by Kai, collects and uses personal data when you visit the site or contact me. I aim to comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) of Singapore.
Who is responsible
The data controller for this website is Kai, reachable at [email protected] or Blk 738 Pasir Ris Drive 10, #03-42, Singapore 510738. This is a personal blog, not a company. There is no separate legal entity, UEN, or corporate registration behind the site.
What data I collect
Contact form. When you submit the contact form, I receive your name, email address, and message content. You must tick the consent checkbox before sending. I do not collect this data unless you choose to submit the form.
Cookies and local storage. The site stores your cookie preference in your browser's local storage for up to six months. If you accept analytics cookies, anonymised usage data may be collected by third-party analytics tools configured on the server. Essential cookies required for basic site operation are minimal.
Server logs. Like most websites, the hosting provider may automatically record technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. I access these logs only when needed for security or troubleshooting.
Why I use your data
I use contact form data solely to read and respond to your message. I do not add you to mailing lists, sell your details, or share them with advertisers. Server logs are used to maintain site security and understand general traffic patterns.
Legal basis and consent
Under the PDPA, I rely on your consent when you submit the contact form with the PDPA checkbox ticked. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing [email protected] and asking me to delete your message. Cookie preferences can be changed through the cookie banner or by clearing your browser storage.
How long I keep data
Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to correspond with you, typically no longer than twelve months unless we have an ongoing exchange. Cookie consent records expire after six months and must be renewed. Server logs are retained according to the hosting provider's policy, usually thirty to ninety days.
Third parties
The site is hosted on a third-party server. Email from the contact form is delivered via the server's mail function to my inbox at [email protected] for processing. These providers act as data intermediaries and may process data outside Singapore. I choose providers with reasonable security practices but cannot control their infrastructure entirely.
Your rights under PDPA
You have the right to access personal data I hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, and withdraw consent to processing. To exercise these rights, email [email protected] with enough detail for me to locate your record. I will respond within a reasonable time as required by law.
Children
This blog is written for a general adult audience. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has submitted data through the contact form, please notify me and I will delete it promptly.
Security
I take reasonable steps to protect data, including using HTTPS, a honeypot field on the contact form to reduce spam, and keeping software updated. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy when the site or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
